The Storm's Jake Deitchler shocked the wrestling community at the Olympic Team Trials to make the United States Olympic Wrestling Team.

Deitchler upset two-time World Bronze medalist Harry Lester in the semi-finals. Lester was favored to win a Gold Medal for the U.S. in the Olympic Games later this summer. In the finals, Deitchler downed Faruk Sahin of the U.S. Army team to make his first Olympic squad. Jake is only the third high school wrestler in history to make a team, and the first in over twenty years.

The Storm had 4 other wrestlers competing, all of which failed to make the team.

Andy Bisek, Zac Nielsen, and Cole Konrad were all defeated before reaching a medal match.

Chas Betts lost in the semi-finals to eventual champion Brad Vering. Betts then reached the Bronze medal match, where he was defeated.
